Recent advancements in large-language models and artificial intelligence (AI), including but not limited to ChatGPT, have disrupted the language teaching landscape for both language teachers and students. To that end, we invite all Polish language teachers to share their activities, tips, and experiences from using artificial intelligence at our upcoming jarmark (virtual fair share) on the use of ChatGPT and AI in the Polish language classroom.
In our first Fall 2024 event, we will discuss how AI-based tools can be used in our teaching practice, including their advantages and disadvantages. We are interested in how artificial intelligence can enhance the teaching of Polish as a foreign language, including critical approaches to AI and the use of AI for improving language knowledge and literacy. We look forward to seeing how Polish instructors have adopted AI tools in their teaching practice, hearing their success stories, or learning from their experiences.
As with our previous jarmark events, the event will feature short presentations followed by a general discussion. The Zoom link to the event will be distributed in early September to all NAATPl members. If are not a current member, please make sure to join us using this form to access the event. Traditionally, the working languages of the event will be Polish and English.
To submit your presentation proposal on any topic related to the use of artificial intelligence and/or ChatGPT in the classroom, please email us at naatplorganization@gmail.com and include your topic and a short bio. We welcome submissions for short presentations (10-15 minutes) from all NAATPl members who are teachers of Polish as a foreign language, regardless of their professional or employment status (full-time faculty, part-time faculty, graduate students). The submissions deadline is September 1.
Zapraszamy do nadsyłania zgłoszeń i do miłego zobaczenia na jarmarku!
