Traditionally, textbooks for teaching Polish as a foreign language (PFL) have been written to promote standard-language knowledge and vocabulary. But what happens when PFL students arrive in the classroom with language skills in nonstandard or regional varieties, such as Kashubian (kaszëbsczi jãzëk), Podhalian, or Silesian (ślůnski)?
