The North American Association of Teachers of Polish is pleased to announce the results of the popular vote following the 2026 election. The results were first shared with attendees at the 2026 General Meeting on February 20, held in conjunction with the American Association of Teachers of Slavic and East European Languages (AATSEEL) annual meeting.
Welcome to New Old Board Members
Following the elections, we are pleased to announce the reappointment of two board members, Łukasz Siciński (Indiana University) and Michał Wilczewski (Northwestern University), both of whom were reelected for the 2026–2028 term. We congratulate Łukasz and Michał for their willingness to rededicate their time and energy to supporting our mission, and we look forward to working with them over the next two years.
Current President Re-Elected for 2026
The final announcement at the 2026 General Meeting was the presidential election, in which Krzysztof E. Borowski (University of Wisconsin–Madison) was re-elected as President. According to our bylaws, the NAATPl President is elected by its members to serve a one-year term. Following the announcement, Krzysztof shared his plans for the organization’s programming for the next twelve months.

The North American Association of Teachers of Polish is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established with the goal of supporting and promoting excellence in Polish language teaching, learning, and research. We invite current and past members to get involved with our initiatives by submitting ideas for future activities, actively participating in our events, and considering involvement in our board work.
