The North American Association of Teachers of Polish is pleased to announce the results of the popular vote following the 2025 election. As we welcome two new board members, we also express our gratitude to an outgoing board member for their leadership and continued dedication to the organization. The results were first shared with attendees at the 2025 General Meeting on February 22, held in conjunction with the American Association of Teachers of Slavic and East European Languages (AATSEEL) annual meeting.
Welcome to New Board Members
We are pleased to announce the appointment of two new board members, Agnieszka Makles (Rutgers University) and Łukasz Wodzyński (University of Wisconsin–Madison), both of whom were elected for the 2025–2027 term. We congratulate Agnieszka and Łukasz for their willingness to dedicate their time and energy to supporting our mission, and we look forward to working with them over the next two years.
Thank You to Outgoing Board Advisor
The 2025 NAATPl General Meeting also marks the final year of service for Izolda Wolski-Moskoff (University of Illinois Chicago), who has served as Advisor to the Board for the past twelve months. Prior to that, Izolda served as President of the North American Association of Teachers of Polish from 2020 to 2024, having been a member of the board since 2018. We would like to take this opportunity to extend our heartfelt thanks to Izolda for her tireless work, exemplary leadership, and dedication to the profession throughout those years. Thank you, Dr. Wolski-Moskoff!
Current President Re-Elected for 2025
The final announcement at the 2025 General Meeting was the presidential election, in which Krzysztof E. Borowski (University of Wisconsin–Madison) was re-elected as President. According to our bylaws, the NAATPl President is elected by its members to serve a one-year term. Following the announcement, Krzysztof shared his vision for the organization over the next twelve months.
