Jolanta Wróbel-Best received double degrees in Polish language and literature as well as philosophy from Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland, and worked there as an assistant professor. Her Ph.D. dissertation on Polish modernism and Henri Bergson’s metaphysics was given a publishing award and printed as a book (Misteria czasu/Mysteries of Time 1999, 2012, 2nd edition). She is also the editor of the Wheels of Change: Feminist Transgressions in Polish Culture and Society (Warsaw University Press, 2021). Dr. Wróbel-Best’s interests incorporate a comprehensive approach to Polish studies, teaching Polish as a second language in the US, philosophy, and women’s studies. Currently, she holds a faculty appointment at the University of Houston–Downtown in Houston, Texas.
