Agata Kowalewska is an assistant instructional professor and instructor of Polish at the University of Florida. She holds an MS in Geology from the University of Warsaw and a PhD in Community Nutrition from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses including Polish, nutrition, food, its safety and customs as well as EU laws and practices of sustainable agriculture and food practices.
Dr. Kowalewska developed a UF summer abroad program in Poland and contributed to signing a collaborative agreement between UF and Warsaw University of Life Sciences. She worked in two USAID-funded projects within Feed the Future: Integrating Gender and Nutrition within Agricultural Extension Services in Nepal and Tajikistan. She also conducted extension and service activities in Haiti in collaboration with the Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy at UF.
